The bit sticking out is slightly bent so wont go through easily. I hit it repeatedly with a heavy rubber mallet. Could be seized inside I guess.

Not gonna work. Steel hammer time.
What's the bearing system in that? Cartridge? If so bashing the axle will result in bearing removal on one side which is kinda fine. You can then replace the bearing and axle. Or get the QR out somehow, maybe with a press.

The first time I flew with a bike I left the skewers in and they were bent on arrival. Pretty sure I hammered them as straight as possible and then used a vice to grip it and pulled the wheel so it came it through the other side.

Push it out with another skewer?
