  • Last minute in after epic dithering.

It is 8:30 for 9:00 like the first post says, right? The 6:30 start in the event thingy would require extra will-power.

  • ^ yep. not an off-road night ride, or should that be nightmare

  • Sod it, also in.

  • Forum always does that.

    Meet 08:30
    For
    09:00 GTFO

  • Bike's clean, chain oiled, I'm full of pizza; ready to roll tomorrow.

    Kitchen's a bit of a state though.

  • Great ride today, much pleasure to ride with you all and thanks to Ma3k for great job leading.

Sorry to my Baker's Arms brethren who had an off and broke shifter.

    See you all next time.

  • Legs felt good on way home but with four miles to go - whack! - not a crash but a bonk.
Had dinner, fell asleep & woke up 1am.
Thanks to @Ma3k for leading a memorable day in the saddle

  • Memorable is the word; I clearly need to practice my fence-climbing.

It was great to meet you all, and a beautiful day out. Thanks again to @|³|MA3K for leading.

Oh, and I forgot to mention those flapjacks had almonds in: I hope no-one's allergic.

  • where else does a bike ride include scaling a 6' barbed wire fence eh?

  • Cheers for leading that Ma3k, was a nice little day out.

  • I am 6', the fence was taller than me.

  • Does anyone have this route in Strava? Would like to try it but only have it in MapMyRide - I'm hunting VeloViewer tiles at the moment so want to be able to edit it in Strava to add little loops if needed.

  • I don't use Strava sry.

  • Can I have the MapMyRide link. I'd like to see the route.

  • I have the ride in Strava somewhere. PM me email address and I'll sent it over.

  • That extra hump just after Dagenham is up the Beam River and Down the Ingrebourne to Rainham.
Extra few KMs but worth it for the traffic-free riding, some views and historical sites.

  • I've ridden this route now four times, I love it. thank you for sharing it.
Rainham RSPB reserve is one of my favourite places near London.

  • Word of warning for this ride:
If the tide is in (or coming in) you can't ride that section on the Thames after Tilbury Fort (you will drown)

You can divert round via Fort Road. Tide times are online somewhere.

  • I would love to ride it again someday.

  • Is there any images from the ride? I'd like to get an idea of what to expect
