Kitten looks decidedly up to no good :D
Gorgeous pair the two of them. -

Dizzy does too. If it starts raining she’ll head outside and sit in it. She soaks it up like a bloody sponge and then comes in and jumps on the bed or whatever and it looks like a crime scene.

Thanks - she had the shrinks in the end. Only 5 years old. Tickled her behind the ears as the vet injected her. Crazy quick - less than 2 seconds and she was gone.

Any cat dentists in the house?
One of our moggies had his check-up the other day and the vet said that he 'may' have a cavity and oh btw it's £400 for a proper examination under general anaesthetic. + £60 remove the tooth if it turns out we are right. I don't know if they refund the £400 if they are wrong and the tooth is fine*. HAH.
So.
- what's the going rate for cat dentistry?
- should we find another vet?
* this will never happen. Good tooth or bad, once through that door it's coming out.

:( Very sorry to hear this. Hope you're okay.

I think ours was £200-£300 for dental investigation under general anaesthetic, but it was much more for the removal of the tooth, so I expect similar total bill.

Reminds me I need to go to the dentist. YAY.
Anyone else had their cat's teeth checked / sorted recently?
-
• #8159
I paid just under £530 to have a tooth removed, not mine obviously, end of Sept. I opted to do a full blood test which was about £50. The package deal included full teeth cleaning and polishing.
Luckily, our insurance covers certain dental issues, so I have got the full pay out...

But the quesiton is, do you dry your cat?

On a seemingly constant basis.
You're not paying over the odds :-)

i often wonder if there is another way someone has invented to remove cats teeth without a general and the vets association has hunted them down over the years and they have had "accidents" with cars/fires/etc etc
a bit like x-files plotline -

Why would you when as a vet you can be like 'yeah maybe needs doing' and cat owners just pony up half a grand?
It's like when you get car MOT'd and they are like NEW TYRES £500 NOW and you are like UM OK TAKE MY MONEY IT'S NOT LIKE I NEED IT.
(We don't have a car but you know what I mean)

Difference is tyres actually cost the money you pay and labour is added at an agreed hourly rate. Vet bills seem to have a hefty markup on everything and no logic behind the ‘labour’ pricing.

Of course having a basket in the living room, another upstairs, the best place for a nap is on my soggy trainers 🙄

Used to have one of those cat beds that hooks onto the radiator for a guaranteed cosy snooze spot. Neither cat would go near it. Then it got taken down and the blanket part was left on the table next to the draughty back door. Immediately one of them started sleeping there.

Have you ever tried to check a cats teeth/seen how easy they can bite through a piece of rock hard jerky? Probs best to stick with the general.

We do towel her down sometimes, and she has her own towel. But that’s kinda difficult when she comes in from the garden at 4am and jumps on the bed...

Do any London folk have cats in houses that don’t really go outside?
My other half is pestering for a cat, we’ve both had 3 cats at a time in our parents houses for most of our lives and both feel that we’re missing a fluffy companion but I’m fairly certain and insistent that no cat would be happy being indoors all the time. We live on a pretty busy road though we do have a small back garden. A cat could easily jump the fence and make its way to the road if it so wished. Although there are a whole street of back gardens for it to play in without danger.
Jut looking for others experiences of London cat keeping so I can go back with some arguments for and against.
We have a fairly roomy house and as I said, both cat lovers so it would be treated like royalty, I’m just not sure if it’s fair to keep it in and if not, whether it’s safe to let it out. No option for a cat flap so would be a let in/out job. -

Cats that don’t go outside by choice or being kept as indoor? I think if it’s by choice you really wouldn’t know until you have had it for a long while. Like Patch used to venture out far and long, now she is pretty much a self made indoor cat. Well partly because of that annoying black kitty upstairs.
I just think cats should be allowed outside because otherwise, no matter how big their home is, it’s still feel like a lifetime imprisonment.
With letting your cat to go outside, of course there are always risks of them being involved in all sorts of acccidents, poisons, people who don’t like animals and them going missing, but I still keep my cat flap unlocked 24/7 because I think a living being should be allowed their freedom.

I know the feeling, especially when the bedding has just been changed!
Patch kind of expects to be dried sometime, so she’d come in form the rain, and just stands next to me until I pick up a towel or so tissue. Such a princess!

Our two live in our flat and don't go outside.
But inside is all they've ever known.
We will move soon, to somewhere they can go outside if they want. I know one of them will probably stick two fingers up at us and run away, the other will just perpetually lounge on the sofa and not give two shits about the outside world.
FWIW you can stick em on a lead and walk them like a dog.

Time is now 02:19, I can’t sleep so been staying up watch some trashy tv. Patch went out for a quick piss then she came back in within 10 seconds. Yes you have guessed it, black kitty is stalking her / waiting outside his own door.
I don’t know which cat I feel sorry more, Patch who can’t do a piss in the garden but has warmth, food, water, litter tray or black kitty who can’t even sleep in his own bed.
This water pistol seems to have a lot of positive reviews in getting rid of moggies. I am going upgrade my gear and give it another go.
Now tell me, would I be wrong if I add a tiny bit of lemon juice or pepper in with the water? So it irritates him a little bit not actually hurting him.
Be chilling yo
