  • Any cat dentists in the house?

    One of our moggies had his check-up the other day and the vet said that he 'may' have a cavity and oh btw it's £400 for a proper examination under general anaesthetic. + £60 remove the tooth if it turns out we are right. I don't know if they refund the £400 if they are wrong and the tooth is fine*. HAH.

    So.

    • what's the going rate for cat dentistry?
    • should we find another vet?

    * this will never happen. Good tooth or bad, once through that door it's coming out.

  • I think ours was £200-£300 for dental investigation under general anaesthetic, but it was much more for the removal of the tooth, so I expect similar total bill.

  • We paid £450 for anaesthetic and four extractions at a vet in zone 1 recently.
