I've been using FX. It looks ok and has never given me any problems.

Mixplorer is the best I've used, free, great UI, no bullshit and fully functional, handles unzipping etc no bother. Not on the play store (not sure why, but the apk is easy enough to install. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691

Eh? What's changed on Solid Explorer? The old/classic version is still available on the store if you want.

Simplemobiletools do a minimalist file manager - find it on F-droid.
All of the Simplemobiletools are good - the apps are minimalist, and require no extraneous permissions to run.

Ideally a free one. I used to use solid explorer but it's totally fucked now.
