Sticking a 17T sprocket on was easier than expected. I'm sure I read something ages ago about needing to file down ridges on the sprockets etc, but perhaps that was for the SRAM hub. Slotted straight in, and not dragging or catching on anything.
I went with a used SRAM cassette in the end as they can be broken apart far easier than a Shimano one.
It's shifting gears fine on the workstand, will road test tomorrow once this rain has gone.
