Nice work.

Any swearing? Looks great

Minimal actually, but I had the guards sitting around because I knew they wouldn’t fit. So I’ve been ruminating on a fix for a while. Very pleased and the water displacement is decent.
Thanks! -

that frame... I really wish I'd pounced on it when I had the chance to : )
(nice work btw) -

Thanks man. Was a steal but had to shell out for a seatpost binder repair. I love it though, would love to upgrade the cranks and wheels but it’s very low on the list of priorities. I like to think of it as a classy rat bike

I quite like the relatively low key-ness of it. Not sure what blingier bits would add to it.
Sweet ride! -

Thanks man. Low key was definitely an aesthetic decision, hence de branded cranks and pedals. I’m just not a fan of the deep rims, I’d like open pro cd in the future.

Saw that this evening. Proper hack I reckon!

That reminds me of one I once saw that was done with a shoehorn.
-
• #761
I thought that was a shoehorn

• #762
This is great!

I thought it looked like one, too, but I've never seen one that long. I'm hardly an expert on shoehorns, though, and I don't actually own one.
-

Yeah I've never seen one that long.
I guess it could be used without having to bend over too much/at all -

I seem to remember mrs. mespilus finding such a long plastic shoe horn in IKEA 10+ years ago.
That snapped when I put too much pressure on it. We now have a steel one, (source unknown). -

Are you sure it wasn't actually an arse saver?

The one from yesterday evening was definitely one of these Ikea shoehorns.

Elegantly done! Functional E-Stay too? Love it!

10 year old Edelux light on last legs... Couldn't find a shim in work so a 10a scalpel blade did the trick to silence the rattly mounting lug that also prevents the tail light from working... Was meant to shim it tonight, but looks like it'll stay on the bike another 24 hours... or so! :)

Going for scalpel instead of leccy tape or similar is an interesting choice. I think I'd want the blades pointing outwards though. Ped slice and dice.

10a scalpel blade
Also doubles as an anti-theft device.

All fun and games till you go over a pothole and end up with some emergency rhinoplasty :-)
Pdw guards didn’t like the clearances on my path racer so needed to improvise. A bit of drilling and filing, and some polymorph and cable ties and they’re on.
