You can like who you like, it more the double standards on display by the jornos bemoaning Sky's 'dominance' of the sport who responded to Valverde's win with either praise or a shrug of the shoulders.

Rumours that Gaviria is set to leave Quick Step for UAE, due to the budget shortfall Leferve has.
-
• #19634
Would be a loss but Viviani plus their lead out train = plenty of wins.
They’re so stacked with talent - even before Evenepoel and Mas broke through this year.
-

Just seen in that article Mas is a target for Astana. He’d be mad to leave. He can be QS’s protected rider at any grand tour he chooses. But I appreciate it’s a short caterer and cash talks.

Bernal signs a new five year deal with Sky.
He also returns to racing tomorrow at the Giro d’Emilia, which is good news as the injuries he received in his crash at San Sebastián were serious.

I've not heard of a five year contract in cycling before, that's crazy. I wonder how much the odds on him to win the tdf at some point would be
-

I think Gesink signed a five year deal at Rabobank once. Can’t recall any others of that length.
Will he win the Tour? Who knows, but he clearly has the talent and he is at a team that know how to win it.
-

He'll only be 26/27 at the end of the contract, by which point the current big salary leaders will be retired, so budget available to pay him a GT contender wage.
If he wins a tour during the 5 years, big bonus.Thinking cynically, locking in a 5 year contract during a period when off during a serious injury makes good business sense, though I expect he is to be paid pretty well...

Quick Step to re sign Cav for the twilight of his career would be ace.

I don't know where I read it but the contract value of those 5 years was rumoured to be more than 10 million pounds.

Pretty random. A feature on a what, 7-8 year old frameset built up in a fairly standard (if messy) way. There's some odd stuff on it too.. why the cadence sensor, why cable tie the pump over the top of the rear brake cable.
The guy's story is interesting, coming to it quite late and all, but the bike, not so much.

It's a refreshing look at a 'normal' person's bike. Not something that only pro mechanics work on and not something built mostly for instagram wanks.
Some people care about cadence. If he's a late starter he's probably started out grinding away and the cadence sensor might encourage him to grab lower gears to reduce muscle fatigue. Frame bags go over brake cables with no issue. His doesn't look like it's touching. I wouldn't set up my bike like his but at least it's not just another Sky Pinarello with oooh grip tape instead of xyz.
