  • Yeah, ride a lot in France and have it Euro on all my bikes.
    If I cabled the other way, it might be better I suppose.

    On the front, the outer is impeded by the massively thick stem.

  • Will see how I get on with them now that they appear relatively central for now.

    I have older gen Sram red brakes or DA9000 to go on if I get fed up (though r8000 or 9100 might match better with the rest of groupset)

  • but the callipers float a bit (will wobble even when tighten up) so once they're tightened up, use a 14mm to centre them on the rims. I think I had a similar issue to what you're finding until I realised that, and now I love the brakes!

    and who needs to indicate safely while braking right?!?

  • I looked at a number of YouTube videos to realise that the brakes remain ‘floppy’ and it doesn’t matter as long as it doesn’t rest on the brake rim.

    Had to dial one of the spring adjusters in all the way and the other one all the way out to counter the pressure from the cable bend.

  • That was my immediate thought, but the cable stop at the rear doesn’t clear the aero seat tube because the the small size and dropped stays.

    Front might work, but don’t like mismatched brakes!

  • I’ve had no issues with Red brakes, in fact they are as good as the best calliper brakes I’ve used.

    I did pay a man to set them up though.

  • If you do have one bike out of many with opposite cabling, make sure you don't forget this when descending. (He says, remembering a very sketchy hairpin on a hire bike in Ibiza. Eek!)

    Put the same brakes (Euro routing) on Kate's tiny Giant. Bit sensitive to cable length, but one you've got it right they're flawless

  • literally no idea. I guess it makes brake rub less of a problem if it does happen

  • I think it’s because of the single pivot design, both arms have to remain movable. Bit disconcerting though, makes it feel like the rubbish mixte bike I had a go on in France.

  • Torrential rain soaked Richmond Park laps today, bike rides like a dream!

  • Dolan pre cursa built up with spare parts, the line of the fork looks a little off, any suggestions for an alternative?
    Also thinking a stronglight 2000 crank with black ring, which might look better.
