Scicon bike bags...

  • I'm going to be traveling a fair bit for work over the next year and after some nice but slightly pricy hire bikes figure it'll be as cheap to take my own bike. I'll be taking the over-built Kinesis Tripster AT and have been looking at the Scicon 3.0 bag but wondered how "real world" use is. My old Evoc bag was fine but felt like it was more by luck than careful packing that my old cheap Chinese carbon didn't get smashed to crap.

Also. the decals on the wheel areas, are they removable or printed on quite solidly?

  • I've got a 2.0. It's a very good design in term of ease of use, and the metal support should help avoid most frame damage. The handlebars and shifters are quite exposed IMO though. It packs to about a third of the size which was a selling point for me.
RRP is ridiculous so shop around, and check the caster are fitted tight, otherwise you'll lose the bearings on the first trip.

  • Bought one in the 40% off sale at Scicon. Will see how good it is
