Hold the phone. I have some Chinese risers too...
-

Ha. I'd get nervous every time I looked at them, so will give them a miss. I could just keep your spare parts in my shed if easier in the long run tho.
Think I want dead flat, no rise. Will wait though. Gonna try a longer stem with your ones first. They will more than do for the time being.

Yeah, umm'ed and ahh'ed on that. You can only get carbon disk forks with a straight steerer in mountain bike flavour and the A2C on those is a little long. Plus no mudguards mounts also turned me off.
Brothers Cycles do a carbon Kepler Disc fork that would fit.

It's sold out and has been for a while

Yep, and a bit pricey for this build. I'm hoping the whole thing will cost £150 by the end, not just the fork...
The kinesis dc37 was the go to option but this isn't made anymore and second hand ones are hens teeth. Damn you adoption of tapered steerers as standard.
-
• #82
Fair play. Even I you could find a DC37 you would probably be hard pushed to pay less than £120 for one in decent condition.

Just in case anyone is tempted by the expensive carbon option, there is still a way to go - the BBP carbon cyclocross fork. 400 A2C. 170 squids. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391614855757

There are also these http://www.londonbicycleworkshop.com/94111/products/genesis-croix-de-fer-disc-carbon-fork-2016-black.aspx not much cheaper though.

Not made much progress on this, but I did manage to take a lovely picture with the sunset and deer of Richmond park. I have though managed to build the rear wheel, shorten both the chain and brake hose and stick a marginally longer stem on that has improved the fit. Think I could still go longer and lower tho.

I am really enjoying it too, particularly mixing go anywhere freedom with fixed gear. Loves a bit of gravel and even some single track this afternoon. Want to be in this gang now.

The longer and lower (with rizzzzers) is why I said goodbye to my v3 large pomp and got a fgfs allcity dropout instead.
A v4 med pomp would've been perfect fit-wise and cosmetically speaking but after a year searching for one within budget and being able to get it to the United States of Berlin, Germany I gave up and found the all city locally (well, Germany). -

Csb I know but aye, 2,5 liters of finest Berliner kindl on a Wednesday night works wonders for sealing abilities on an internet forum

It has got quite the headtube on it. Fully flat bars on the way in the post. Then I'll work out whether to get a -10 stem too. Think more than that might start looking odd. Not a fan of droopy stems.

More slow progress today. Got the grinder out and saw off the superfluous bits. Lost 2 cable guides, 2 canti studs, 2 eyelets from the dropouts and a random chain keeper thing. The canti hanger went a while ago. Looking lots cleaner now.

All means there are slowly becoming fewer reasons to delay the paint any further...still not sure what colour to go. Tempted towards light grey, with a touch of sparkle and try to stencil on POMPINO in black.

Weekend progress has been made.
Stripped it down, rubbed it back a bit more, cleaned all the grease and dust off, stuck an old quill stem in the seat tube and masked everywhere that doesn't want to be painted. Dug a load of old bottle cage screws out of the jar of whotnuts I keep in the shed. Hung it on the line.
Warmed my primer up in a bowl of hot water (thanks for tip @cagimaha) and got my spray on. Generally did a very average job but it shuold be improved when I flat it back tonight. "Good practice for the top coats" I said to myself in my head.
Then hung it up to dry next to the warmth of a radiator. Praise the lord for Half Term. The family have decamped to the in-laws for the week so I can leave these bits here safe in the knowledge the only person who is going to bash them about is me when I stumble in drunk on a work night because I've been let off the leash.
Hopefully, with a day off and a day of WFH, I should be getting close by the weekend.

Looking good! Will you take it for the tnrc season ender?
Looks good!
I think you probably won't notice the fork dimensions, if you just paint the fork black.
