Often have this with customers... a used one in good nick is £600-800, new is £950-1200 average...
Also. Sjscycles have a p type ex demo with 30% off... shimano dynamo, brooks b17, 6 speed, marathon tyres, rack and fcb telescopic post... email ryan@sjscycles.com if you want it, will be on the website tomorrow. Happy to swap bits around etc except p type and 6 speed - happy to change ratios/components etc.
- either find a used stem or just go super low s type of you don’t want p ;)

Ha! I actually know some legitimate real life humans who have managed to survive working there for prolonged periods.

To be honest, unless you know what you’re doing and have access to parts at trade price and the tools to do stuff then you’re probably better off just buying a complete bike. The one you’ve linked looks good but a bit pricey at £600 - I paid £450 for a similar one for my wife, altho the seat tube sleeve needed replacing (cost £5 in parts). The serial number looks like it starts with 13 which indicated the year of manufacture, so it could be approaching 9 years old. I wouldn’t pay more than £500 for it, tbh. There are plenty out there so don’t rush and buy the first one you see.
You can always tweak it to your tastes later, altho I’ve had mine three years now and all I’ve done to it is put a wee rack on - I had plans to mess with it but it’s a commuter bike and I think it works best as standard.

Just been looking into it as I fancied an m1e but if they take the final payment I’d save about that.
I took about £400 a couple years ago and they never took the residual value payment but there’s no guarantee they won’t take it this time.
All the blurb our company has is full of ifs and maybes. Useless.

Looks good to me.
That looks shiny with Ti both ends.
Right? -
• #5234
Don’t think that’s necessarily true buddy - I save about £400 on cyclescheme
-
• #5235
It varies scheme to scheme, employer to employer, salary to salary.
Last time I did cycle scheme if I had paid the final payment it would have been same as full retail.
The 3 year extension meant I saved about £150-200 that was on an 1800 bike.
You’re higher tax band right? What happened at the end of the year?
-
• #5236
Yep.
Going to put a black Son XS radial spoked dynamo, black Edelux II and black Son rack light on it.
Carries carving tools in the S bag, nicely.

Kushty.

£83 per month and then £70 final fee after 12 months.
-
• #5239
Means nothing without knowing the cost of the bike.
-
• #5240
£1800? Scheme covered that, not just £1000? I was only aware that the police scheme went to £1500?
-
• #5241
Police? LoL.
When i worked at HSBC the limit was 2k.
It’s not the scheme that sets the limit, it’s the business. £1k is a good limit that was generally settled on in the relatively early days when the scheme was being exploited by people buying £6k DH rigs and getting the tax saving. The idea is you can get a decent commuter for that.someone has to stump up the credit for the initial purchase, if there were no limit, there wouldn’t be enough money to pay for the bikes in the first place as everyone would be going silly buying DBADs with S&S and electric CHPT3s.

The £1k limit was mainly for ease of admin. More than that and I think you needed to be FCA registered or something which a lot of banks, local councils, etc are.
There are plans on changing the limit to promote e-bike sales but I don't know what's happening with that.

S + mid rise?
Just about to add a mid rise to our m3!
-
• #5246
have you done H stem base + S stem + S bars?
-
• #5247
Are you trying to confuse me!? No! Did an s bar on h stem, need to check measurements on difference between s and h uppers to see what would create, tall!
-
• #5248
Yes, M swapped to S and mid rise. Thought that would be the path of least resistance, when ordering initially I didn’t realise the S stem gave so much more reach. Should be perfect and wider bars are such an improvement.

M to mid rise, gf will test tomorrow!

Did it work? Did you shorten the cables? 🧐 Been planning to do the same for a while but been afraid of it will snowball into a mega-project (with £££ and S stem)
No, and I don't think so
