  • So, mkII was a couple hours this morning...

    I used an old silk waistcoat for the inner lining, so super smooth and soft, and conveniently houses a pocket.

    First, draw up the pattern on the leather (from a coat), the thin padding (from the lay-z-spa base), and the waistcoat.

    For the waistcoat I wanted to maintain its original structure and lining for added depth, as a thin layer of silk would be too little on its own. I stitched along the pattern lines before cutting, to hold it all together.

    Next, sew the leather and padding together.

    After that, sew the lining to the shell.
