Proper prepared this year.
Drop bar pogies en route from China via Ali Express and picked up a nice pair of “waterproof” Kalf gloves that were reduced in Evans the other day. “Waterproof” because I haven’t tried them yet but it says it on them so must be true right?
Excited for the pogies but since I’m still commuting bare handed and only wearing mitts for proper riding it might be a while.

Badass, as soon as the mercury goes below 12, white fingers for me. :/

Any suggestions for something thin and as warm as possible before I order another pair of defeet? Nothing with wool/ other animal products please! The defeets I wore holes in worked quite well last year but interested to see if there are other options.

Could you post a link? Tried searching aliexpress and couldn't find any.
EDIT - found them searched "handlebar gloves".

They seem decent for the money. Will definitely add a layer of protection from rain.
I can't see them being waterproof though. They are made from wetsuit material, so not 100% waterproof but will keep your hands warm while wet.

Christ people, even as a cold hand sufferer it is still August. We haven't even got to autumn yet. HTFU.

To be fair, last night in the beer garden after a ride was a bit shivery and this morning I could maybe have done with something on my hands for the commute in. I’m sure thevride home will be fine though.

Found my post from last year when I'd gotten the waterproof hestra lobster overgloves which turned out not to fit and had to be returned. Well they do now for some reason, maybe they've changed the sizing. So plan A this year is different liner gloves and the lobsters on top. Starting in a month or so I'd guess.

Surely not winter gloves yet though? That said, I was kind of forgetting that not everyone's weather is the same as mine. It's been fresh in East Anglia for the last few mornings but I guess it could be a lot cooler up where you are!

Anyone tried these from aliexpress? They claim to be 100% waterproof and thermal.
The pictures show a “waterproof” layer.

Recommendations for gloves this coming winter please!
will be...
all day cycling - often in the rain
using a grip shifter (so nothing loose fitting)
using a smartphone a lot - so i guess i need either one of those gloves that has the special finger tips thing or some other good solution I'm not aware of.tia :)

Just been doing a bit of browsing on here and other places about light gloves for running and commuting. The Defeet wool gloves seem to have a pretty good rep for the price, but they're sold out all over.
Are they significantly better than the nylon ones? Any idea where they might be available?

It’s that time. Time for gloves.

Any thoughts on them yet?

Not tried them yet. Shameful.
I might put them on in a minute because I'm refusing to turn the central heating on until the 1st of November

They seem ok. Wearing the Dissent 133 flavour ones and so far so good.
Just discovered a pair of pink fluoro Prendas ones (large) which I've never worn. They're too big.
Send me a message if anyone wants them for a tenner
