  • Excellent choice

  • I have an odd shaped head [...] fits like a head glove [...] ill post a picture later

Well, now. If you're like me and have a 'long' head (back of head-forehead) that sounds very interesting.

  • Yup. Except I have more phlegm in the corners of my mouth.

  • Mine is more tall/high than long....

  • tall/high

Thanks for the pic & info!

  • I wanna try this

  • Keep your Gorilla tape away from those shiny Cane Creek Helm forks ;-)

  • Going back to the “where’s good near London for skills practice” then I recommend PORC (Penshurst off road club). Loads of stuff to play on and progress on. I’ve been twice now am already doing things I didn’t think would ever be possible at first visit. No coaching as such but on both my visits there have been riders of all abilities there and everyone is encouraging and friendly.

  • Fullface helmet, dual crown forks - it's @BareNecessities idea of a perfect day out

  • Realised I never posted a picture of the finished build. Still a few bits to sort.

  • Needs moar murdering

  • Ha, I’ll try that next time. What does that involve exactly? ;0) moar black components or something more sinister?

  • something more sinister?

    Allegedly...

    Don't listen to @snottyotter

  • If you order another, let me know, I broke my lower clamp, postage was a lot I think as it was from some French distributor or something.

  • I spend a lot of time on this forum. Have learned that life skill already ;0)

  • Anyone else here (other than me) doing One Night In Thetford this weekend? I'm busy strapping lights to my bike and helmet although given the weather forecast I'd be better off building a boat.

  • This looks promising, drive within an hour from my house. I'm gonna do the jump course first mind otherwise too many painful memories of me standing on top off the mini ramp (not vert, not midi) being told to "do it" will come flooding back.

And cheers @furious_tiles, i did a two dayer recently (BPW/Brecon gap road) and it was definitely the way to do it if you're driving that far.

Would also recommend Windhill if you're heading west, more fun than Bracknell IMO. some pretty OTT jump stuff but some nice blues spuds like me can session.

  • I’m 40min from BPW so don’t need to set a weekend aside for it 😁

  • Swinley. Are there any routes for beginners there?

  • I've only been once with @platypus this summer, we both stacked it but we'll use heatstroke as an excuse. There was plenty of tame stuff for beginners, in fact most people looked like beginners, very different vibe to any other trails i've been to.

  • The blue route is ideal. No real skilz required. There is even a few 100m "green" loop for people who have never been off road on bike before.

  • Perfect for me then. Thanks.

  • Going on a little holiday on Wednesday/Thursday to York. Intending to take my mtb and visit Dalby which is great but also want to get out ‘on’t moors’. Anyone got this book? can I borrow it please? Anyone want a lift to? Should be room in the car.
