  • How can I get a laser cutter to etch a pattern only inside a specified shape?

I can make a hexagon dxf from Fusion360 and pattern it in RDWorks, but how do I then layer it with another DXF (in this example a triangle) so that the pattern is only etched within. Plan would then be to laser cut out the triangle. I could get the pattern to repeat outside of the shape boundaries but thats just a waste of material and lasery goodness.

You can pattern the hexagons in F360 and pick only the ones which lie within the bounding triangle. Any circular or rectangular sketch or model pattern has tick boxes by all the instances, you just untick the ones you don't want.
