~£150 for a set of mudgourds. Holy shit!

For that amount you might make your own from alu or custom wood even?http://www.sykeswoodfenders.com/sykeswoodfenders/sykeswoodfenders.html

It's a niche product, what'd you expect?

Got these https://www.sks-germany.com/en/products/bluemels-75-u/ for under £50. That's what I expect.

i just ordered some swarf guards. are the stays decently long? there is a long reach to the mounts on my fork. has anyone put mudflaps on them? also curious what coverage on the front looks like.

Ha, a year or two ago the idea of fenders themselves seemed anathema around here.
Or maybe it was just my nomenclature. -

velo duo sell carbon guards with VO mounting hardware - not 100% sure but I think they are the swarf ones.

I just picked up my first set of full mudguards at lunch
2 hours of swearing and much skinless knuckles and if anything they are further away from being installed on my bike than they were when i started!
Seems like the person who designed the CAAD 8 was forced under duress to put mounts somewhere on the frame for mudguards and out of protest put them in the most awkward places and made all the holes the wrong size!
EDIT
Turns out it wasnt the person who designed the CAAD 8 but the previous owner who had crashed the bike and sold it to me without mentioning the frame was bent at the back!

Seem wide enough for 27.5x2.8. Will post more pics next week when I get to mount them.

Turn the rear clip 180 degrees so it doesn't get in the way of the brakes resulting in it being set lowerr?

Niche question perhaps but... which Gilles Berthoud mudguards for a 26 x 1 1/4 (aka 597) wheel on a raleigh lenton?
GB do them in radii of "26"" (presumably talking about 559s), "650b" and "700c" and I want minimum of gappage so am loathe to go full whack 700c unless I really have to.
Bearing in mind that the 597 rim is slightly closer in size to 650b than 700c, I'm tempted to go for 650b size, but am slightly worried the radius won't quite be big enough, so want to avoid the faff of returning them...

They are not just mudguards, they can be used as a rack for panniers.

Is there a current go to set of guards for stupid bikes with very little clearance and no mudguard mounts?
