Depends where you live and how you use the car but things like an increased tax on fuel and ULEZ restrictions could be something to consider for the future.
Petrol is definitely (slightly) kinder to the environment but, especially in the bracket you're looking at, you'll immediately notice the difference in torque between a diesel and a petrol car.
What's the consensus on this? Polo was diesel, I liked it, but am I going to be responsible for climate change and acid rain whilst being taxed to within an inch of my life if I get another?
