Merino t-shirts are longer in body than last time - much better. If previous experience is anything to go by, it's certainly no worse than some branded stuff I already have. Managed to grab one. But my local had run out or almost run out of a lot of stuff (no lights, no socks, no waterproof jackets) by 1pm on Sunday. Ridiculous.

'Merino' arm warmers are crap even for £6. Only 50% merino, feel cheap as fuck, they'll be going back. Merino socks seem like they'll be ok for MTB and the headband is decent. The lezyne style lights are decent if you can get them. I have a set from last time and the front is particularly good, so I bought a spare set this time round.

Picked up the merino socks, overtrousers and gloves. Seem fine.

I got the merino arm warmers last time and they’ve lasted about 3 rides before getting holes near the elbows. I thought they were ok in terms of toastiness though.
My wife got along sleeve merino base layer and used it yesterday. Said it was warm FWIW

Would it work with strava and my garmin when using the turbo indoors?
-
• #707
As long as your Garmin has Bluetooth connectivity, yes.
I've tried a turbo ride in the Strava iOS app and couldn't get it to work...

Should do, I use my Coolspo sensor with my garmin on the road. For the trainer I connect it to my ipad and use zwift.

This one?
Bought one tonight, seems pretty bright and the body feels pretty chunky/well made, mount looks good. I kida worry the back cover may become loose after repeatedly being taken on and off for charging.
The rear is bright but feels a bit cheap.

Just bought this as well and agree on point r.e. back cover. Going to see if I have a usb female extension cable to make it easier to charge front.
Nonetheless, back light isn't even working so will be taking back tomorrow...

Press and hold the button on the back yeah?
Only coz I thought mine wasn't for a while.

Front tested on ride home. Bright enough for city commute.
Double tap low flash mode was perfect. Used solid brightest in darker/unlit streets.

Double tap low flash mode was perfect.
Didn't realise it did that.
I grabbed a set of the double led lights that were about 3 quid too. Always good for a back up.

Fenix 4 so it should be okay. I'll have a look.

That's exactly what I'm thinking for the winter months.
Should link with the garmin and then sync across Strava.

When you say the back you mean the one you can see on the top in the picture you put?
I may just be a complete muppet but can't find any other button.
-
• #717
Yeah, by back I meant rear light. Press and hold the button on the side of the rear light to turn it on. I was trying just a momentary click and though it was gubbed or at least totally flat.

I found it by mistake...

Bought some stuff there yesterday, including the f&r light set. Went out for a spin and thought the front was ok, but nothing spectacular, until I went to turn it off and found I had been running it on setting 3 of 4 on the brightness scale! Setting 4 was really good, will be interesting to see how long the battery lasts. Rear battery was flat, so couldn't use that last night. It's charged now and seems very bright.
Good value for £15/pr

3 different lots of lights on sale in aldi, the £12.99 each knock of comet ones are the best.

The 3.7v 1050mAh battery in the front light is a bit of a disappointment. It'll probably last longer than 1/8th the runtime of your typical Magicshine MJ-808 clone with 4 cells of dubious quality/history, but possibly not by much.

Everyone I know who has these lights has lost the back cover at some point, including myself. Been working fine without it though, just put some blue tack over it to protect the contacts if you get worried when you eventually lose the back cover!
Great light for the money in my experience.
-

I lost the cover on my original one. Blu tack is a good tip, I cut my knee on the (surprisingly sharp) contact once.
-
• #724
I might try and work something out to hold it on, something with Velcro or the like?
-
• #725
I think I lost mine when it was charging rather than it falling off tbh. I always thought it was pretty secure. No harm in making sure though.
Had a stroll around my local Aldi in Norwood Junction, and they’ve got most of the range. Merino stuff looks good, the socks at £5.99 are a steal. Bought a jacket at £19.99, one for the wife, plus a few other bits and bobs. Worth a punt.
