The Mamnick Thread

  • Good morning, you have missed out on few more questions. Would you answer them please? Thanks.

  • Probably because of the Kate Moss story.

  • So it’s a collaboration with Field Cycles. Are Harry and the team aware of your political views and your views of Islam? Do they share those views too? What about your other collaborators such as Rapha, Albam etc? Are they happy their brands are associated with you and your views?

So it’s clear you understand the concept of “collaboration”. Why then did you claim that stealing the intellectual property of RSF was only a collaboration via a “bootleg” and an “homage” when called out about your unsolicited use of the logo?

  • abhorrent and hysterical dribble in the thread

I think you are getting confused with your Twitter

  • I have just spent the last ten mins looking at that Twitter account above. I have never seen it before.

What did you make of it? Cracking stuff right? Yomp!

  • Love this! It's like a hate child of meme and brexit threads.

  • Of course. Can you compile all the unanswered questions into one post? That would save me some time (I've got a lot on today).

Here you go (There were only three, it didn't take me long to compile this. I'm sure you could have managed it with little effort.) :

  • I take it then we can expect an uptake of criticism directed towards nationalistic, xenophobic and racist violence on your Twitter account? That's what you do is it? Social crusader for all the downtrodden little people in the world?

  • I guess it all depends on what politicians you are allowed to poke fun at.

The wealthy old white male ones obviously. As an honest to goodness "working class" lad from Sheffield this shouldn't take much explaining.

  • It's surprising you have chosen to double down on this.

You clearly did not share that image to criticise her economic understanding, but her appearance, it is not humorous, it's racist and sexist.

  • I t's surprising you have chosen to double down on this.

Is it? I’m not surprised at all.

I’ve never bought any Mamnick stuff, I sure as hell won’t now.

  • triggered SJW

    Bingo!

  • with some of the Foffa thread chucked in for extra lols.

  • You define identity politics, so that’s an odd thing to say.

  • M9, literally the joke I was making... you're making this a bit too easy.

  • But you judge Islam and it’s followers by a few people’s interpretation of it.

  • Really how so?

I see people as individuals and judge them by the content of their character.

That is really the opposite of identity politics.

That's not true though, your views are off-the-shelf fragile white man, to the point of cliche.

Your identity is made up of your various prejudices, plus a bit of out door sports - the only thing that makes you an oddity, and has generated this thread, is that it's bikes and yomping rather than pickups and AR-15's.

  • Thanks for your answer. Only thing I'll say is the 'offended woke middle-classes mobs of squids' are your exact consumers, they simply enjoy their own specific (and in my opinion shakily reasoned) kind of victimhood. Enjoy the rest of your busy day.

  • But you judge Islam and it’s followers by a few people’s interpretation of it.

We have a winner, ladies and gentlemen.

  • I suspect this thread won't last the day.

Cycling, and this community, are and have been incredibly inclusive. Reading our chap's comments here, he isn't as inclusive as some of us.

Fair enough, but when people have a choice where to spend their money, they might choose to spend it where it is reflective of their own values.

  • Have to ask, you don't happen to have a 2k mink coat?

  • I suspect this thread won't last the day.

But influencers arvy!? Think about Kibosh. Thoughts & prayers.

  • Simple, yes.

I was asked a question specifically about Islam, hence my answer.

You weren't answering a question with that tweet though, you were reposting without comment.

My point is, where are all your retweets questioning the bountiful history, past and present of awful behaviour closer to home? I can't see any.

Nor can I see much by way of meaningful discourse on your behalf in presenting these views. Much like your creative brand you seem happy to just staple your name on to other people's work as if it makes you of the same calibre.

Again, inane and immature sums it up for me.

Best of luck with your brand.

  • I'd never heard of Kibosh until today - so the association is raising awareness.

However, their association also suggests that they approve of Mamnick's racist and misogynistic views, which to me fundamentally contradict one of the main beauties of cycling - that you can meet anyone on the road and share the wind with them, regardless of colour or creed.

Pushing a rent-an-identity, alt-right agenda in cycling is not cool, and I personally will be avoiding any brand which is associated with that.

  • My thoughts too. Can we therefore assume his collaborators align with him in his views...the likes of Rapha, Kibosh, Albam, Field Cycles etc etc. I still want to know his motivation for ripping off RSF, their badge and their Instagram feed.
