  • On a similar line, any idea about the machining of either SRAM or Shimano sprockets to fit the SRAM hub? I have a 6 speed S Type, but I'm forever bouncing between "4th" and "5th" when cruising. I feel a 17T sprocket would be perfect for me.

*edit I'd rather be told how to achieve it rather than buy the wrong sprockets and a dremel, and waste ££££.

  • The sram hub uses 3 spline, so you can use 3/32 sturmey sprockets, issue is, they don’t want to shift! They have no ramps etc, so, the easier thing is to buy a sturmey hub bwr, then you have 12 spline, can fit loads of sprockets including shimano ones..

  • I don't know why I said a SRAM hub, I do indeed have the SA BWR hub. Ok, so many Googlings later, the sprockets for the 3-6 speed SA are 2mm thick. Shimano 9 speed are 1.8mm, SRAM 2mm.

Going to have a hunt around for some cheap as chips sprockets :0)
