I spotted a Crust Romanceur on Tuesday in the wild streets of Hackney. Compass tires, full steel fenders, the works!

What a fantastic looking bike and I couldn't believe how light it was.

Wasn't sure if I'd get away with posting this in the gravel thread, this feels like a safer place ;)

Finally got around to building a new wheelset for the Sibbo. Also dialed in the fenders and some other things. Should be pretty much done for now.
Originally built it up because my roadbike was just too racey and I couldn't see myself doing brevets on it. This will do just fine on the occasional road ride but being quite the comfy ride it's just stellar even when pushing centuries in a row.

@Heldring Bars are Ritchey Evomax, 46cm. Stem is a Manila-connection thing but you'll find the same model from Satori called Stealth 6.

What's to stop you changing the wheels?

I wanted 29x2.3 not 700x38 (already have a bike for these). Already bought the jaroon plus anyway.

Thought I'd post my 26er commuter too.
Had a Pelago fork kicking about so I brazed on some canti studs and switched the steerer tube to a threaded one. I really like the biplane crown and I finally got rid of that old unicrown fork.

Forks are cheap and cheerful PX London Road with a coat of black spraypaint. Quite decent piece of kit for the £50 I payed.

Dynamo routing is internal by yours truly. The aluminium crown is very thick so no worries drilling a hole there but the hole by the dropout is going to bother me for a while until I get enough km's on the fork to forget about it. Should be ok though. Tried taking some pics but the installation is just too damn stealthy ;)

I am looking to swap my SS for a geared commuter steel-framed bike. My current options are either new Jamis Coda Elite (carbon fork, hydraulic discs and 520 frame, flat bar) or used Ridgeback Voyage (520 frame, Cr-Mo fork, cantilevers and drop bar). Which do you think will be better for year-round riding? I already have Pickenflick for more sporty rides, this one is mostly for commuting, sometimes longer way than just shortest A to B route.
I like drop bars and cantis might make it less attractive for potential thief, but I have heard many bad opinions about their effectiveness. Mini-V might be out of question with mudguards.

Does it sometimes rain on your commute?
Do you wash your bike often?
If not, I'd go for disc brakes. I'd rather replace a brake disc than a rim.
