Anybody had problems with a sticky 2 speed tensioner deraileur? How did you solve the issue? Thanks
-
• #5157
Yeah, kind of stupid but if you register it tells you the price. Obviously it should have been shown in the main website and not force users to sign up.
Prices start from £7-£12 depending on the kind of wash you like.

Yep. Check the shifter mechanism isn't gunked up - liberal WD40 should help.
-
• #5159
Thanks I’ll give it a go.

Thanks. You would have thought it would have been in their top five checklist of things to be on their first page after the question, “is our name there”.
-
• #5161
To be fair, they do tell you it when you see them.

Better?

Check the derailleur is freely moving, keeping that fairly clean is key. If the shifter is sticky, then douse with gt85 and then go to dealer for a replacement.

Which bag is that?

Does anyone on here have an Off Yer Bike Brompton carrying handle? Are they any good? Pondering getting one but have heard that for short arses like myself the bike catches on the ground as you carry it.
-

I find them not so good. You grab the handle, which moves a lot, then your wrist gets in the way of the saddle, just grab the frame ..

A leather artisan friend makes a beautiful one. She makes them from scratch so I guess you can choose any colour combination of leather if you wanted it to be completely unique. Don’t think she’s had complaints.
@maynardeames will try that. Mine is at least five years old. Would they still replace it?
@hoke yeah fair but I think if I have to meet them before I know how much the base price is that’s a bit off. Especially when they could have put it on their website. Maybe nobody has asked them that question before.

only replace if the newer one, if its the old style shifter, it will more than likely be the DR system being dirty or a crappy cable!

Polaris B bag. First time travelling and they’ve been great. The Brompton’s have just done a couple of km off road too.

Question: Can I use a 6speed 13t (instead of the 2speed 12t) in conjunction with a 2speed 16t to get a lower top gear?
Don't want a lower bottom gear as I find 58/16 to be more usable than 54/16.

Cheers, I think I'll hold off at the moment. Leather one sounds nice but I would suspect way out of budget
-
• #5172
Got it, ta. Ah well. Room for selling an aftermarket widget there.
-
• #5173
Certainly! works quite nicely actually

suddenly tempted by those bags, are you using standard seatposts or extended ones?
Looking at the photo's of other versions, not sure whether an extended seatpost would fit in?
-
• #5175
We’ve got standard seat posts. I’m not sure how much longer an extended seat post is, but if you took the saddle off, maybe that would work?
