  • Touring mode!
For a nice weekend between Basel and Zurich.

The ReFuse are heavy, but really comfy to ride (on road and gravel roads).

  • Nice! Looking a lot like the distant cousin of my Wolvy rn ;)

  • Thanks!
TBH, your post helped a bit when I bought this frameset! :)

  • Solid!
650b? And is that a Big Apple Tara for extra clearance?

  • Yup! 27.5x2.0
    This is a normal Tara.

  • Any of you Wolverinos got an original flat-crown fork going spare?

  • I got a whole frame and fork going spare if someone wants (60cm)!

  • I want it! In Sweden though

  • Replied ^^

  • if nogk drops out, I'd be very interested too

  • Will it take 700x50c tyres? Something like soma cazadero?

  • I haven't tried anything that big on mine. But sliding dropouts are your friend if you can try the tyres before chopping your chain

  • How to take care of the Wolverine's unique rear triangle?

Follow our official max tire guidelines which is 700c x 45mm with fenders and 29 x 1.95 without fenders.

Why is using too big a tire a possible problem?

    a) To fit a fatter tire than recommended requires user to slide the insert to the rear of the dropout. Sliding the insert to the very rear creates extra leverage on the dropout and the frame versus having it in the center or front of the slot.

    b) Using fatter tires makes the rider think he/she can ride more aggressively than the frame tubing is designed for. The Wolverine is not an XC/trail bike.

  • That's a shame.
    Thanks!

  • 1.95" is 49.5 mm - I reckon it'd be okay with 50 but only just!

  • I am running at the moment Continental Race King 2.0 and the inserts (measured from center of the two bolts) are just past the middle of the rear dropout slots. At the front of rear triangle, there is more than enough clearance between wheel and BB / seat tube. It's possible to run 2.2 but as Soma's disclaimer points out you need to move sliders all the way to rear of dropout slots. I have the first version of this frameset. Not sure if that's the case with the newer breezer style dropouts but I presume a 29"x 2.0 should be OK.

  • Recent pic of the bike with minimum setup for one-day off in the mountains (food and clothes)

  • Awesome, where is that?

  • That's the sierra de Ayllón in Guadalajara province and just 100 km north of Madrid. Very rugged, sparsely populated area which is now mainly a natural reserve.

  • Thinking about transforming my Wolverine into SSCX for winter.

Partly to reduce wear to components, partly just to see what it's like running it fixed with the slidey drop outs. Have no idea about setting up chainline etc for 135 spaced rear disc hub with fixed cog though-is it just going to be shite finding wheels/set up that works?

  • More pictures of this please?!

  • Outer position of a double is pretty spot on for chain line IIRC from doing it on my pompetamine

  • Managed to really dent the rear rim, so won't take the 700s off road too hard anymore ... Soma tyres for road plus light gravel duty from now on.

  • How are the Soma tyres?

  • Did a 100k over some bumpy roads today, and they soaked it up nicely. Even though they're not tubeless. The Stan's wheel set is heavy though, I bet they would do better on nicer hoops.
