• I have just joined the group.
This is my DogsBolx built in June 1994. Frame number 940603. It’s virtually all original apart from tyres and handlebar ends, and I still have the original receipts. I paid £860 for the frame, handlebar stem, headset and forks. I thought that was great value for money at the time considering it would take nearly a weeks work of a skilled craftsman to make your frame.
I have been researching more about my bike and managed to get the original build instructions from the Roberts archives. I remember being measured by Chas himself who took my deposit. After reading more on this and the LCC website, I now know Winston Vaz built my frame (and handlebar stem) as it has his signature triple pointed seat stay reinforcement.
I’ll post more images soon plus explain how I sourced all the components and built the entire bike to achieve an all up weight of only 9.77kg.

  • That is a very very nice ride indeed - don't think I ever seen a Dog's as nice tbh. Absolutely lovely.
I had this frame made in about 1990 I think. It's full Max OR throughout, including forks.
Bit random component-wise, Campag, ZT, Ringle, Dia Comp. Wheels are Mavic Paris Dakar rims and hubs. They'll last longer than I will I think.
Still ride it most weekends now, and aside from a old Marin on a turbo trainer it's my only ride.

  • That is a really nice bike. I’m glad you still ride yours regularly. Mine is stored at the moment as I’m out of the country for some time. I really miss it!
