@TvH are these the forks I'm looking for? Frame is corrected for 120mm so obviously these won't do. -

I recently did a session with Gareth Hopkins (5x Welsh DH champion and 4 Cross racer) in FoD.
£50 in a group of 4
Sound guy, and a good coach.I’d recommend, search on FB, I’m sure he’s got a day coming up.

Cheers, i'm in Korea for the next one but i'll look our for November.
Did you have much jumping technique beforehand or did you start at the beginning? I'm definitely a beginner.

Awesome, was gonna give you a shout. i'll look into how cheap we can get Hertfordshire if we up the numbers in case anyone else wants to join. FOD looks good but that's a long drive for a day trip!

Jedi teaches from the ground up (geddit?)
So you'll be fine if you can't get the bike off the ground before you start.

My biggest issue is carrying too much speed for my ability through trails then trying desperately to keep the bike down on the ground when i get caught out by jumps as i have zero faith in my ability to land properly. Jedi sounds bang on for me.

I did the beginner/intermediate course and proper had a bit too much experience but still took a lot away from it.
Gareth started on the most basic of tables and on to very simple doubles (that it didn’t matter if you got very wrong). Throughout the day building up when each student was ready. If you could get a couple of others to do the course with you, you could make it a couple of days trip and ride a Welsh trail center or Bike Park Wales on the other day?

How much do you want for them? And, do you have any hints on getting Hope X2s set up to not be really shit? Mine are terrible...

How much do you want for them?
Well kinda hoping roughly what I paid but £5er a pair will do. They are sintered / race compound.
And, do you have any hints on getting Hope X2s set up to not be really shit?
Bleed them properly. Fresh fluid if they have been running the same fluid for a while.

Can you advise on the correct length of rigid fork for a frame designed around 26" wheels and a 100mm travel fork?
-
• #12217
~490mm a2c. Do you have the original sus fork?
-
• #12218
nope, got the frame on its own. Its an old charge duster skinny, like this: https://www.tritoncycles.co.uk/frames-forks-c6/mountain-bike-frames-c48/duster-skinny-26-mountain-bike-frame-p1287

Between 420-440mm a-c will work for 100mm 26" frames, depending on how you prefer the bike to handle.
-
• #12220
thanks all!
-
• #12221
How do you measure that? On sagged or unsagged fork? My 26er psylo had 503 A-C at 100mm travel.

Sagged

• #12223
100mm 26" forks are around 470-475mm a-c. Take away a generous 30% sag, and you've got rigids sitting around 440mm. 420-425mm rigids are meant to replace 80mm sus forks, but can give some nice sharp handling, assuming the BB doesn't get too low :-)
Those Psylos sound particularly long, compared to the assortment of Rockshox, Marzocchi, Fox & Magura forks I've owned.

It all makes sense. Thanks.

Is this any good? Is 125 of drop enough for long legs?
