Framebuilders, ( @Hulsroy ? I know you've done dimpling) can I ask your opinion on DIY dimpling/crimping on a tube like the above to gain a few mm of tyre clearance after the frame has been built? Recommended or no? I know it's easy to do before welding but I have read that afterwards there's a risk you damage the frame and that you should consult a framebuilder. Blocks of wood, a vice/C-clamp, spare hub (maybe a bit of leather for paint) is apparently all you need.
Would be excellent to bump up to 584×47mm in my Kona Sutra (which clears 42mm) and similar in one of those Holdsworths. #bigcrimpin#dimpmyride
