  • Ktm thought they would not make it....

  • Probably new battery time. My own long term test results with Lithium suggest it's worth the price (usually double). Much stronger starting amperage, quick to recharge, smaller and noticeably lighter on my bike too.

  • Just because the battery shows 12.5 across the terminals, hitting the starter button can really knock it down and it won't have enough kick to start the bike.
If something else is draining the battery, eliminate those possibilities. Alarms? Heated grips?

Just get a new battery. Honestly the easiest solution. They're expensive, but every Yuasa I've had to replace inferior ones, has been spotless, even if bike sat weeks in winter without moving.

  • Getting slightly anxious as my credit card hasn't turned up yet and want to buy that RSV. Think I'll hold my nerve until Saturday, and if it hasn't arrived I'll try and put a refundable deposit down to show them I'm serious. Basically want to avoid putting a non-refundable deposit down as it could mean the tail is wagging the dog if I want some money off.

  • I wanna go and view a Z750 this weekend.
    Anyone with experience?

  • I would have thought that the MT07 would be a better bet in that department. Lighter and more torque...

Also, plenty of them around so some cost efficient ones.

    Not in my price range

  • The boat anchor is a 63 Plymouth Fury. LONG term project....

Jambon, my advice would be don't even speak to the dealer again until you're ready to buy it. More nerve wracking but gives you the most leverage to beat them up on price.

You are right, I'm just imagining somebody else's buttocks on it and getting interested. I do need leverage though as planning on offering £4,150 delivered as an opening gambit.

  • Well finally bit the bullet and have bought a 250 Xmax. The insurance is steep so Idecided to not buy a £3k+ one and go a bit cheaper. Haven’t had a scooter in the uk since a gilera runner about 12 years or so ago. Just need to get some more padlocks and get rid of my mot’ed, just serviced, low mileage (26k) Kawasaki gt550, the ideal winter hack / first big bike, owned by me for the last eight years. Maybe I should do a stealth ad

  • Anyone interested in some new boots?

    Alpinestars Boots SMX 6 V2

I bought these new from Infinity this year, only tried on once in the shop.

Paid £189.00, think I still have the receipt, still got the tags but no box.

euro44 / UK 9.5 for reference I'm a UK 9 in all shoes, I have slightly wide feet. These fit nicely.

  • Does anybody know where I can get my seat recovered? I noticed the cover was starting to crack a bit and then today started to feel a damp patch spreading through the seat of my jeans...

Its for a KTM Duke 2010 so has the 'pointy' bits for the pillion. I've seen a place in mid Sussex that does them 'while you wait' but I wonder if anyone knows of a place in London's famous London?

  • Hmm
I'm in a quiet street in Copenhagen. I thought that an alarm going off would scare sneaky idiots who like to write on covers so they bugger off before they get to smash the head lamp or slit the seat.
It'd need a sensitive vibration sensor though.

  • I know an interior guy in winchmore hill, very good, normally does car interior stuff, but could probably do it if you want to give him a try?

  • It's the guy who did Neil's Porsche

  • So looks like an Aprilia RSV1000R Factory is being delivered tomorrow morning.

  • dude...DUDE!! Duuude.

  • What have I done?!

  • Stolen everyone’s girlfriends

  • My hair just grew back, my back just stopped aching, and I feel like drinking a litre of Vodka and not feel anything in the morning. Much youthful excitement.

  • Stolen everyone’s girlfriends

If everyone's girlfriends are like mine they won't be interested in plastic fantastic sports bikes and precariously perching on the back of one, which is understandable. I think the Triumph Bonneville/Moto Guzzi guys know what they're doing ;)

  • Funny thing is it's almost luxurious compared to my ZX-6RR that was microscopic in comparison!

  • You will become whole again.

  • Neighbours Xmax was lifted by 3 guys in a transit last night. Another neighbour heard a commotion, by the time they got to the front door it was loaded and they shot off. It wasn't locked to anything, just locks on it. Just putting this out there so none of us are getting casual.
