I've ordered a shorter stem for this and seeing as I'll have the tape off, I'm wondering about going for white instead - along with a white Rolls saddle I have. The pedals are borrowed from another bike, so could get some white Keos, too. Will I need white lever hoods as well? Should I not bother with any of this?

nice MTB headset ! want it ! have one but in frensh treading

Yeah, I'm going to get the new stem in lower and the shorter reach will allow me to rotate the bars so that they are angled properly. Really it's too big, but I won't be riding it often/far/hard :)

Update of my do-it-all : fitted back the mudguards (with TNRC flaps, thx @jaeyukdapbap, just in time for the rain. And test of the last week project, a diy rack roll top rack bag between 10L and 30L.

perfect! and Kojak thumbs up! When the tubeless world burns they will stand tall.

The kojak and the wheel are from my gf bike, my wheels need some truing and I may fit back some hutchinson overide I have in stock.
But yeah, the kojak are pretty fast, cheap and puncture proof (for me ;)). -

Do you reckon 650b 48mm would fit in the Elan?
-
• #121290
probably, yes, but not great clearances. I'll post a photo with my 27.5 x 1.50 G One in the frame when I get the chance

Does anyone have a shifter clamp nut for a 6500 shifter?
I just want this done now, been sat in my shed doing nothing for way too long and I need a winter bike.

Cheers, I ordered a velo orange strut thing in the end, which I think I'll be able to make work.

Press fit 🤮🤮🤮
Also this bar tape is awful and my cable routing skills are not really good enough for this bike
Total spend so far: <£300 + €80 and a bunch of parts bin stuff

They're like aero mini-Vs. Pretty cool but by all accounts pretty rubbish performance-wise. Worrying amount of play in them but we'll see when I get it fully built and rideable

My Kepler is “finished”.
Only thing I may address is the Deore rear hub has been problematic, I’m on my 3rd freehub body, so may build an XT hub onto an A319 with some strong spokes. Also depending on the cost of if when I wear the drivetrain out I may upgrade to 11 speed to run 46 x 11-46 or even 11-50.
Rides great, super fun, just like a 90s mtb (exactly what I was hoping for).
