  • Has anybody used those Hario cloth filters?
    How is the coffee?
Is it a huge faff to use (wash) ?

  • I bought one of these Hario pots about five years ago, forgot I had it... Will have to drag it out...

Fuck me, beans are expensive here... My local roastery charges forty bucks for 500g, got some Coffee Supreme (very highly regarded folks from Melbourne who opened here a couple of years back) beans posted for $35 and they're just as good but still so spendy... Just bought a kilo of supermarket beans for my girlfriend for only $18, they were on special at half price but she loves them...

I'm sure I was paying only £12 for 500g at Monmouth, or am I dreaming?

  • Maybe not, but raw coffee prices have been going up for a while (might be on the the turn though), roasters in London have been increasing prices for a couple of years. I expect £11/250g here now, or up to £30/kilo

  • Postage costs are a lot of that extra cost tho, right? I always found Australia to have cheaper and much better quality coffee beans than the U.K.

You could try also Red Bean in Melbourne who are awesome. http://redbeancoffee.com.au/shop/
