Those polished ultegra cranks look amazing

  • This is bad.

Anybody know whether there'll be a 2019 Arkose, if they survive?

  • ah i'd forgotten about that one. i wish it had fender mounts! wtf tom!

  • Dibs on the moots.

  • I wonder how you polish it without removing the two tone look and ultegra decals.

  • Pretty sure it’s the stock crank just really good light?

  • Naah, that's polished or worked on. Cranks are matt on one side, they'd never reflect that brightly.

  • Than how do you keep the chainring black?

  • Any good/bad about Cotic Escapade?

Pros: flat mounts/axles, reasonably light, affordable.

Cons: no front hole for dynamo on fork, weird colours.

  • I'm fairly certain the texture is the texture of the metal and they're just painted. If I could be bothered I'd go down stairs and look.

  • I've got a MK2. Really like the way it rides. Slightly porky with the steel fork, but they now come with carbon options... Agree with you that the current colour options are a bit uninspiring.

  • Goddamnit! Get your arse down stairs, there's internet points to be won!

I thought it was along those lines. Layering looks really fine, but they do look worked on. Totally love it.

  • I am thinking about trying out some Funn G-wide bars. Those anybody now if the given width measurements are hood to hood?

  • just plugging my croix de fer as i've finally decided i probably deffinitely shouldn't keep it, so done a proper ad and photo's etc.

  • HOLD THE FORT.

I'm gonna change back to the Salsa Cowbell mainly because the Funn G-Wide make it a little painful trying to get into my flat, so it'll be avaliable for you to try out, they're super awesome bar and made drop bar a lots more fun off road, even climbing.

They're 50cm hood to hood AFAIK, the drop part is much much wider.

  • That sounds perfect. Are you saying the drop is too deep?
How much would you want for em?

  • I mean due to the massive flare, the drop portion centre to centre is more like 58cm, although the drop was a tad too deep for the width, as I end up needing to fit a more upright stem, bear in mind the reach is very long, almost old-school drop long.

Probably gonna ask £30, can bring them to Seabass for you to have a butcher.

  • I think I’ve asked this before, but does anyone know the correct tightening torque for the pinch bolts on the EBB of an Arkose? I’ve asked Evans and they told me “finger tight” and then sent me a link/path to Cannondale manual on their local harddrive...

  • I'm surprised the staff did not ask their own bike brand to find out.

  • I’ll try to see if I can get hold of someone competent tomorrow.

  • That sounds great man. Thanks

  • so i got round to installing the spacers on the BB today, all went well, decided to swap out the 9 speed system with 10speed , unfortunately i cut the rear mech cable accidentally too short and with no spare cable, it was game over for the day

edit: there was no way it needed 6mm of spacers, it wouldnt refit the crank correctly, but a 2.5+1mm worked a treat - chainline is good and rattle free :-)

  • So I measured it again.

Turn out, centre to centre on the drop part, is actually 62cm (!!!).

  • You know what, that just isn't a problem :)
