I am debating whether I want mid fork eyelets or not. I probably should for future proofness.. On the other hand it look sleek right now

You’ll need to space the rotor out to realign rotor/caliber spacing too with the stays mounted on the inside, no?

• #1210
Sorry what?
-
• #1211
For the rack. If you use the struts between the hub and fork leg, You'll be pushing the caliper mount slightly further away from the rotor on the hub

• #1212
Why's this?

Soaking the frame over night in water dissolves leftover flux.
After powder coating the frame is baked in an oven to cure the paint. This makes the leftover flux runny and it can ruin a paint job. -

I haven't gotten that far yet. I am just thinking out loud

It is too late for this fork but I would go for mid mounts on the inside of the fork legs. Functional and clean. The icing on the cake would be the combination with recessed mounting points hidden in the fork leg covers. It is going to be a really nicely repaired nice bike nonetheless!

The went on the outside as I most likely will use them for a low rider rack

That sounds sexy. Can I see a photo please?

For the GT I was considering using CX70 top pull front mech. All cables run along the top tube. For me this absolutely the sexiest part of this bike. I love properly run external housing with cables exposed in places. I do not get internal cable routing at all. It hides the mechanical aspect of bikes.
But instead I have decided to reuse the original pulley wheel with a regular Ultegra front mech. A new bearing for the pulley has been ordere. It will look grand I reckon. For all you architects out there: To me this GT is the Lloyd's building or Centre Pompidou. It is Renzo Piano over your shitty Kapoor or Saha Hadid bombastic carbon crap! All the ugly ass melted OpenUps...
EDIT: I am hungover and working on my students brief for term 1 :-)

I see. I wish my mind was less foggy right now. So much to do before I can allow myself a bit of time in the workshop.
So excited to see this done
