This old chestnut
Owner arrived a few moments later. a quick explaiantion and recommendation to lock the seat tube and rear wheel and use something to retain the front wheel seemed to go down well.

I had that discussion with someone once. They insisted "It's through the fork" - at which point I decided best just to walk away!

But...it's...you can just...never mind

I did something like this many years ago - locked my bike to a straight post. it was pretty tall in fairness, but i was in a hurry after a couple drinks and it got nicked :-(

^^^^ meh!
I've left some comments on his youtube pages, I'm sure more comments would help.PS this made me cry, I could only watch the first 2 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTfl-SxHHFo

I could only watch the first 2 minutes.
Can you summarise it all for me I can’t make it past about 20 seconds on any of his vids. His voice and tone and style of speech are just. So. Boring.

I got 40sec in and found it wasn't about bikes being horizontal in the bike rack so stopped watching.

Those must be racing railings, they've got drop handlebars.
-
• #4793
Yeah, maybe they're hoping any potential thieves will be too confused where the railings end and the bike begins and will just walk off questioning everything they thought they knew.

Maybe I should clarify: although I do love a purple American alloy frame with smoothed out welds, this was not staged by me but was a real live phenomenon outside my son's hall of residence. I haven't got round to asking how long the bike survived.

Fuck me he is dull and seemingly dense.
Can we do a BTOB style hunt for the racks in question and head over there with a load of laminated signs?
-
• #4797
I mean, there are like 5 bikes in that rack and he is basing a behaviour change conclusion on a sample of one visit?
With that grasp of statistics maybe he is an economic forecaster in DExEU.

It has to be a spoof.
Unfortunately it's as awkward as parts of the Office but with absolutely zero humour.
-
• #4799
he reminds me of Toby from the American Office actually haha.

It looks like a triumph to me. In the previous videos there were no vertically parked bikes and now there are two. You can disagree with his methods but he gets results.
