Presumably 3-4 refers to where the triangle and square meet and 4-5 is square to pentagon?
Yes. Specifically, the angle between the plane of the triangle/square and the plane of the square/pentagon. These should fall out anyway if you make it from a net (like this one) but it may be tricky to add tabs in all the right places.

Are there any creative uses for old-school lamp bosses on forks? Seems a it pointless to mount a dummy handlebar section to mount a light on when it could just go on the bars.

If you have a traditional threaded BB with heavily damaged threads, in theory if you were able to hone the BB shell and remove the threads, would this make it a BB86 Press-Fit?

The shell width would be wrong for a start.
Here's a handy chart.

Mounting the front light further away from your line of sight makes it easier to interpret the road surface? (Depth perception, visible shadows etc.)
This only applies if you need the light to see by - if you want to be seen, then handlebar height is probably better.
I'm sure this came up in discussion a few years ago, but I can't find it now. Part of it was to do with left or right fork - illuminating the edge of the road or oncoming traffic - with no clear conclusions... -

That's very useful and something that will probably get pinned up in the shed - thanks a lot

Noob question.
I'm having a few issues fitting a square taper BB and crankset, there's some movement/play in the spindle.
Would this be because the BB is mismatched?

Quite unlikely, as long as the spindle and cups are both designed for the same ball size and in good condition, you should be able to adjust out any free play. Only weird shit uses anything other than 1/4" balls. The only other thing which can trip you up is not having the two BB shell threads coaxial and perpendicular to the shell faces.

@radar
So my flight to Jordan was cancelled as Israel closed its airspace yesterday morning. (And I guess my airline were too cheap to spend the extra fuel needed to circumnavigate Israel by going south over Sinai and then up north again.)
In any case, Flightradar24 seems to confirm that not much is happening in the sky over Israel whenever I check, but there is no mention of the official closure as such. Is there somewhere on the interwebz where I can stay informed of such closures? -

Definitely this. Downside is shadows cast by the rims. Mounting at the fork crown is a great compromise but is more faff.

If I get a week off in November, where's the best place to go that's either camping friendly or with cheap accommodation, in order to enjoy some heat.
I'm thinking either southern Spain or Morocco, but if anyone else has any suggestions I'd be interested!

Hmm. Probably, but not in a free, easily digestible format. First off, the way these things are promulgated are via the NOTAM system - notices concerning airspace, navigation facilities, ATC restrictions etc that pilots or airline ops departments use to inform their flight planning. There are various online portals that let you check NOTAMs, but you need to be specific about where you’re interested in, and have a certain degree of knowledge of how the system works since they are full of weirdly formatted data. I suspect (although I’m not sure) that there are services that collate and present NOTAM data in easily read briefs as part of flight planning systems, but these will be expensive, paid for services that commercial operators will use.
TL;DR - the system is Byzantine and there will be paid for services that pull it all together, but not freely available.

I have seen ads for Relish(?) on the toob claiming to not need landlines
I want to make an Rhombicosidodecahedron, which is made up of triangles squares and pentagons.
The dihedral angles (according to wikipedia) are:
3-4: 159°05′41″ (159.09°)
4-5: 148°16′57″ (148.28°)
Presumably 3-4 refers to where the triangle and square meet and 4-5 is square to pentagon?
