You can buy 'silver lined' yarn technical garments now, the silver is meant to discourage bacteria... hmm.
You can also spray your clothes post-run to kill bacteria, although using the sun's rays, or your freezer is probably a better bet. There are in-wash options that supposedly leave a residue behind that makes for a less ideal breeding ground... again, this seems like overkill.
Buy natural fibres -> Immediately wash your clothes -> Profit?
