Train to London this morning (travel card, £82.20)

I often think why don’t I go to London more, seeing as it just over an hour on the train...

Commuted from the bedroom to the spare room and onward to the living room, part time life! Now for a day of bike riding and probably playing in the mud with the little human

Beats my usual 6 metre commute, which I shall be undertaking once child no. 1 is at nursery and coffee no. 3 is made.

bailed on my cycle commute with threats of 45+mph winds, yet its totally still out there ! wtf....

Electric fob entry system for the bike shed vandalised in my flats, all the bikes locked in for last 2 days. No idea when it'll be fixed.

5 mile, 1hr commute in the car to nursery in the mean time.

Total fail this morning. Notice back tyre is squishy. Stop by side of road to inflate (it's tubeless, so no puncture). Apply mini pump.

Mini pump removes valve core. Tire unseats from bead.

Go home, get train. I'm new to tubeless - can I fix this on my own or does it need compressed air etc?

Sounds like you need a compressor, or at very least an exceptional track pump. Best err on the side of caution and just get the compressor/Airshot

My commute bike has 38c, mudguards, a rack, one gear, and this morning 2 x pairs of tyres for someone.
I was very tired.

I rode to the gym, "gymmed", rode home, missus hadn't left yet, train to office.

Got honked at by some eejit in a beemer who was aggrieved that I was keeping him from the red light 50 yards on. Resisted the urge to have a chat as I filtered past him 10 seconds later. Anyone thought of producing a business card with "Look how fucking far you got!" printed on it?

Last Friday, Canary Wharf Management (for I assume it was they) put up half a dozen chicane type barriers, to slow down cyclists - I can see why they will have done that as it is a busy pedestrian path, and some cyclists bomb along there at twuntish speeds, and the fence gives the peds nowhere to dive out of the way.
Its a less than optimal scenario.
Each chicane has 3 'gates' of tubular steel, standing about 1200mm high, bolted to terra firma using a couple of M10 rawlbolts on each leg. And they are very effective at slowing down cyclists. I actually have to hop my way around them because fixed and toe-overlap.

I think 1200mm of tubular steel must cede a fair bit of leverage on M10 rawlbolts as, this morning, each one of the barriers was missing one of its gates, rendering it wholly ineffective.

I'm guessing that at low tide, its possible to see where the missing barriers are ....... ;-)
