Progress halted though because my bb is too short

Does anyone have a mega long Shimano UN54 /55?

The one i tried to use is 118mm

Unfortunately not. According to this the max they made was only 12mm longer (and most likely hens teeth). Will that be enough?

If the ring is 110bcd, maybe just buy some cheap old mtb cranks instead? Probably much easier to find than an rare old long-spindle, and given the rareness of said bb's, maybe comparable in price?
