Dishwasher was my guess. Does it go away when the taps open or you just can't hear it? Does it return when you turn the tap off? Sometimes the dishwasher makes a rhythmic noise tapping noise because of the water bouncing off the crockery, if the water pressure decreases then that noise might go away.
