Had my Brompton a few weeks, like it a lot. Blue S2L with -7 gearing, dyno lights and an S Bag, replacing an old dahon with nexus 7, leds and a rucksack. Use it as a soft SS with a hill bail out gear when the bag's full, rides well.
Only thing that bugs me is the loose knock of the rear end catch when it's unweighted. Realise they all do that. Do any of the AM springs or bumpers have a catch hook area / fit that prevents this?

No, they all mostly use the Brompton internal catch, just ignore it!

Thank you!
Using my immense intellect and general bike building acumen I realised that it was highly likely that the bolt these new fangled brakes used is VERY likely to be the same used on the rear bridge of road bikes....
So proceeded to drill the shit out of the fork and hope for the best.
Winner winner chicken dinner, I now have 2 brakes again.

Kinda really want that Chainring....
Looks like it’s not going to buckle under WATTAGE like the current one...
And has 2 extra teeth....

If your massive watts have not already buckled your existing one, buy the 60t, I'll buy your 58t. It'll be fine with my old legs

Can a rear frame clip wear out? My rear frame has a lot of play in it (the bike's 2nd hand), to the point where it rattles a fair bit when coasting. I've check the seatpost quick release, and the suspension block, both are tight, so it looks like the frame clip is the issue. Is it adjustable? FWIW, it's in the 'latch' position.

Have you checked the rear hinge? The rear wheel for play? If the bike is weighted, there should be no movement...
-
• #5065
I've check the rear hinge for play, and it's sound. Will double check the rear wheel though, must admit I've not checked that. Cheers.

So, decided for a rack, mainly for carrying the Brompton (we don't call it a bike do we?) around, as it will be much more stable.
Suggestions for something not heavy weight-wise and money-wise?
Or if it's money, then must be great money / quality ratio. -

A rack for carrying? Or for wheeling?
Search “rjt” on sjscycles.co.uk
