synthetic bags will always be noticeable more bulky when packed, compared to a high fill power (800+) down bag of the same temperature rating. -

I've failed to get my down sleeping bag so wet that it can't dry out or has become a problem so I'd still stick to that unless you plan to tour somewhere unimaginably wet.
