Thanks @amey !
Only with the old wheelset, which looked a bit dull. Will shoot other photos in daylight, after I have setup the rear cantilever and the bike is finished.
This was just a quick test to assure that the front cantis work, which they do really well - allthough the frame has narrow bosses and the new rims are wider....

The 900 looks great fun! It saddens me that our Saab 95 estate is slowly dying before I hit the 300k km mark.

Little update with a new wheelset (rolf prima vector pro) for my fake decathlon
And I recently found a pretty nice mercier frame in columbus SL that I built with DA7400 parts. It's a pretty unusual paint scheme for an early 80's mercier but it seems to be original, as I found a picture of the mercier mavic coop team of 1982 on which there is a pretty similar frame (bottom left).

Does anyone have any tips for removing a front brake caliper with a rounded off bolt thing? There's nothing sticking out of the back of the fork to get mole grips on. I don't have easy access to a drill!

Try gently tapping a torx key in

Or a screw driver that's a snug fit - i've done that before, using a hammer to tap it in and then mole grips on the screwdriver handle to turn it.

I'm essentially stuck in 92. I kind of regret selling my Rockhopper as it was built the same year but I still have my Technics and NBA jam session VHS. I don't think anything i've owned made post 92 has brought me so much happiness!
Except maybe 93 til infinity...

Slow progress on this one, installed cog, (mavic lockring didn't fit, had to use other one) pedals are taking forever to arrive and have yet to make a decision on bar tape.

That's looking great. Short chubby stem would probably look much nicer if replaced with equal length Pearl. Thin black bartape to keep skinny proportions might be nice.

Thanks! I read on the internet that because of the sharp bend of the SSR-VR-C handlebar it could be difficult to work a stem around the corner. That’s why I chose this stem. I was looking into a Pro Chrome stem, before I read the above.

Looks good dude, kind of regret not following up on this. are they 28's on there?

From memory Pro chrome is quite wide at the front, Pearl is narrower. I've had a Pearl, Eclipse, Grammo and Kalloy on SSR - VRC's (Spotter bars), you'll probably scuff them but as long as you put heavy grease on the forward curve they should go without too much drama.

Pro looks no worse than an Eclypse. The advantage of Pro Chrome/Eclypse/Grammo etc. over thick walled aluminium stems like Pearl/Cinelli 1A etc. is that they are much more tolerant of being spread open to pass the bars, both because the material is inherently more resilient and because the thin wall makes the amount of strain on the inner diameter smaller for any give amount of spread.

Flat bar acquired, bit snug but just hammered it into the bottom bracket shell..
Worked a treat, thanks for the tip tester.

The cannondale arrived and it‘s waaaay smaller and slacker than expected. The mock build looks pretty ridiculous, not sure if it‘s worth the effort to build it up.
