  • Thanks! I read on the internet that because of the sharp bend of the SSR-VR-C handlebar it could be difficult to work a stem around the corner. That’s why I chose this stem. I was looking into a Pro Chrome stem, before I read the above.

  • From memory Pro chrome is quite wide at the front, Pearl is narrower. I've had a Pearl, Eclipse, Grammo and Kalloy on SSR - VRC's (Spotter bars), you'll probably scuff them but as long as you put heavy grease on the forward curve they should go without too much drama.

    Pro looks no worse than an Eclypse. The advantage of Pro Chrome/Eclypse/Grammo etc. over thick walled aluminium stems like Pearl/Cinelli 1A etc. is that they are much more tolerant of being spread open to pass the bars, both because the material is inherently more resilient and because the thin wall makes the amount of strain on the inner diameter smaller for any give amount of spread.
