LFGSS Bikepacking Weekend - Sept 15th+16th, Berkshire/Oxfordshire

I am planning to leave Reading about 18:00, possibly earlier if I'm lucky. I'll head north to Stoke Row and can meet @moocher on the way if that suits. (my timing can be adjusted to suit)
What time do you expect to set up camp?

Hi, Looks like a great ride! I'm Purley-on-Thames born and raised (in fact you're going just past my house), so thought I might offer a little bit of unsolicited advice.

Firstly I'd think about extending the route down into Sulham woods further south- there are loads of bike tracks in the woods and you can follow the contours of the hill down until you reach Wilder's Folly and then drop down onto Nunhide lane (farm track) back up north and onto Sulham lane (or parallel footpath) up to Pangbourne.

Secondly, I personally wouldn't fancy riding up Streatly Hill on a ride like this when heading up Rectory road and the double track onto the ridgeway just to the north of it is pretty nice.

Hope you have a great ride, I might see you up the Ridgeway as have planned a ride out that way with a mate.

yes, I know sulham woods very well, used to razz round there loads as a kid and do the bombhole jumps on my tiny bike. that route wasn't too specific, we'll try and take that!
good point on streatley hill, will change that today!

i remember watching ian standard grind up streatley hill during the ToB some years back - anyone who goes hard at the start blows up.

re speaker i'd say leave it - trips like these its nice to open ears to other sounds.
or, bring it and let me play my 93-95 happy hardcore playlist which rivals any shit birdsong / wind through leaves.
