  • Great bike, great price. GLWS!

  • Nice bike! Why is the TT the order way around?

  • Cheers, it’s Columbus max.

  • This is nice, would've taken it off you if not for the size. GLWS

  • Cheers, it’s Columbus max.

I think what @Pawlus is wondering is why the tube isn't reversed, like on most MAX frames. If I remember correctly, some framebuilders prefer this way because of the effects on the ride characteristics. Some Eddy Merckxs have it as well.

@Jaap also had a theory about the wide end of the toptube being wider than the seattube. So this orientation makes more sense from a mechanical/framebuilding perspective (the wide end of the tube makes full contact with the headtube this way, instead of poking out at the sides around the seattube). Correct me if I'm wrong, Jaap.

  • Correct, larger contract area/more welds between the seat tube and top tube.

    Beautiful bike though!

  • Thanks for the explanation :)
I'm getting cold feet flogging this!!

  • Frame , fork and pink king for £750

  • This is definitely something I would regret selling.... although I know in these days of riding big comfy tyres justifying keeping a pure road bike becomes harder and harder.

  • This'll fit 30mm wide front and back - especially with Paul racer brakes.. :)

  • No (apart from a little) interest on LFGSS so off to the bay .
    I'll close the thread.
    cheers!
