whats the red tape over the mju for?
(my guess: to make it less recognisable/tempting to thieves/opportunists?)

Not really, I use it cycling a lot and find it quite slippery. This let's me orient it without looking, for snapping one handed while riding and improves the grip.

Right right, that makes (more) sense, very fair; the sliding door on those mju's can be a bit sticky

Yeah i’ve got grip tape on my bike mju. And electrical tape where the battery-door should be :)
