@GoatandTricycle Despite the weird issue/my misunderstanding of the A1 it does work! Kodak Gold and the 50mm 1.8. Got these back from filmdev yesterday, very pleased:

Will also be making a forum donation once I get paid this month in exchange for the equipment I was given. And of course keep sharing shots off the camera now I know it works :)
