  • Kimi has a lot of valuable knowledge about the Ferrari engine and how Ferrari deploys the hybrid system. This is not a standard setup shared throughout all the Ferrari-engined teams, they have to work that bit out for themselves. Because Sauber run a Ferrari engine, they can immediately make their car faster by using whatever deployment strategy Kimi tells them Ferrari would use.

I would expect similar has happened with Daniel Ricciardo. He knows all about the hybrid deployment strategy that Red Bull uses on the Renault engine. Renault know they aren't using one as good as Red Bull because they can see it on the telemetry and they can see where they are losing pace. They aren't that far behind Red Bull in the grand scale of things and this is one thing which could mostly close the gap, along with having a top driver.

Danny Ric must be kicking himself now he knows there's a seat at Ferrari though. That's where he wanted to be really, he could have been a championship winner there.

  • Danny Ric prob was told a while back he wasnt getting that Ferrari seat - and besides - would he want to partner Vettel as #2 just like he would be if he stayed at RBR with Max.
