A USB ethernet adapter would be an option

I came across my nexus 7 which has a fatal flaw....
...the WiFi won't work.
I had similar with a Nexus 5 - various combinations of vendor images, boot images and system images have problems with the radio firmware.
XDA forum usually has an answer somewhere though.
At some point, you may need to rebuild an img yourself though...

Might be a silly question, but I guess I can plug it into a laptop and install a more up-to-date version of Android right?
Can I also upload games manually?
Any other ideas of what I can use it for?
