Best process for fitting new guards?
Currently has been something like this - looking to see if I'm doing anything deeply stupid (other than not paying someone to do it for me)
Remove wheel
Loose fit new guards
Wheels back in
Offer up stays to gauge length - mark for cutting
Back on with end caps tighten everything with wheels in place
There's normally a couple of intermediate steps mainly involving swearing. And some bleeding. You can fit these in around any of the 6 steps above, repeating as necessary.
It seems so simple when I put it like this, but I started on the front Sunday evening, checked the forecast and realized I could put it off until tonight. Also wishing I had something other than a junior hacksaw for the stays
