  • Hoping the hive mind can spare my some grief tonight. Fitting newer, wider guards this evening.
    Best process for fitting new guards?
    Currently has been something like this - looking to see if I'm doing anything deeply stupid (other than not paying someone to do it for me)

    1. Remove wheel
    2. Loose fit new guards
    3. Wheels back in
    4. Offer up stays to gauge length - mark for cutting
    5. Back on with end caps tighten everything with wheels in place
    6. Profit?
  • There's normally a couple of intermediate steps mainly involving swearing. And some bleeding. You can fit these in around any of the 6 steps above, repeating as necessary.
